TCS Salary Hike 2026: The country’s largest IT company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has announced the implementation of annual salary increments for its eligible employees. This hike will be effective from April 1, 2026. However, the specific percentage of the increase has not yet been announced. According to a report by *Business Standard*, the company’s Chief Human Resources Officer, Sudeep Kunnnumal, stated that eligible employees across all grades will receive an annual increment this time around. The company further indicated that high-performing employees could be granted double-digit growth.
Emphasis on AI; Hiring Continues
According to reports, Kunnumal stated that the company is placing a special focus in the fourth quarter on building a future-ready workforce. During this period, there was a robust increase in both the hiring of experienced professionals and campus recruitment. The primary focus in the fiscal year 2026 was on strengthening an “AI-first” culture and equipping employees with AI-related skills. The company has decided to maintain this priority in the fiscal year 2027 (FY2027) as well, in order to remain continuously aligned with the evolving needs of its clients.
Recruitment of Freshers and Experienced Professionals to Continue
The company states that TCS will continue to recruit freshers and experienced professionals. Particular emphasis will be placed on recruitment in areas such as AI, Data, Enterprise Solutions, Software Engineering, Cloud, Cybersecurity, and Digital Engineering. In the fiscal year 2026, the company has hired over 750 professionals with deep expertise in advisory and consulting. Additionally, investments in talent development programs have been increased.
Employee Count
At the end of the fiscal year 2026, TCS’s total employee base stood at 584,519, which is lower compared to the corresponding period of the previous year (607,979). However, on a quarterly basis, the company added 2,356 new employees during the fourth quarter. According to the company, 270,000 employees currently possess a high level of proficiency in AI and Machine Learning. In comparison to the previous year, TCS had delayed salary increments by five months in FY2025, implementing them in September 2025. At that time, the average increment ranged between 4.5% and 7%, while top performers continued to receive double-digit increments.
