Teachers Recruitment: The e-adhiyachan portal of the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has become active, with which the way for recruitment of more than 60 thousand teachers in the government schools of the state has almost been cleared.
The state’s Basic Education Department has instructed the Basic Education Officers (BSAs) of all districts to upload complete details of vacant teaching positions in their respective districts to the portal. Once this process is complete, further recruitment action can be initiated. It is believed that the department is working rapidly to fill the long-standing vacant positions.
According to reports, approximately 60,000 teacher positions are vacant across the state. Of these, 11,508 positions are in schools in urban areas, while approximately 48,000 are vacant in schools in rural areas. The department has already submitted information regarding vacant positions in urban areas to the commission. Now, data on positions in rural areas is also being uploaded to the portal. The most significant aspect of this recruitment process is that it is the first time teachers have been recruited in rural areas.
What is the age limit?
Regarding the age limit, candidates must be at least 21 years old to apply for the recruitment, with a maximum age limit of 40 years. OBC, SC, ST, and female candidates who are natives of Uttar Pradesh will be given a five-year age relaxation. This will provide a greater opportunity for a larger number of candidates to apply.
What will be the exam pattern?
Some important information has also emerged regarding the exam pattern. According to sources, some changes may be seen in the recruitment exam this time. The exam may be objective, i.e., MCQ-based. Candidates will be given four options for questions, from which they must choose the correct answer. The exam duration is expected to be approximately two hours. It is being reported that the exam may be conducted by September 2026, although this will only be officially confirmed after the recruitment notification is issued.

Special attention is also being paid to ensuring complete transparency in the recruitment process. A digital record of all vacancies will be maintained through the e-Adhiyachan portal, ensuring the exact number and status of positions are clearly visible. This will increase transparency in the recruitment process and reduce the likelihood of any irregularities.
