TMC MP Mimi Chakraborty’s health deteriorated, got vaccine in Kolkata’s ‘fake camp’

Kolkata Vaccine Scam: Mimi Chakraborty had got the corona vaccine four days ago. However, it was only after getting the vaccine that he became suspicious of rigging and filed a police complaint and it turned out to be a big vaccine scam.

Kolkata. The health of Trinamool Congress MP Mimi Chakraborty, who was a victim of a ‘fake’ vaccination camp in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, deteriorated on Saturday. He had got the vaccine four days ago at a camp organized in the city’s Kasba area. However, it was only after getting the vaccine that he became suspicious of rigging and lodged a complaint with the police. The investigation of the matter started and it turned out to be a big vaccine scam. At present, his treatment is going on at home.

According to the Hindustan Times report, TMC MP Mimi Chakraborty has fallen ill after taking the vaccine. The doctor had reached his house only on Saturday morning. It is being told that he is having some health-related problems including severe abdominal pain and excessive sweating. Chakraborty was advised to be admitted to the hospital, but he has spoken of getting treatment at home.

According to the report, Chakraborty already has health issues. However, it is not yet clear whether they are causing any adverse side effects due to the possible antibacterial injection. Earlier this week, the TMC MP was invited to the vaccine camp. He said that he doubted the process due to non-receipt of SMS after the vaccine.

They had informed through social media that the vaccines were fake, but they were not harmful. The MP told that the vials being used at the camp have been sent to the lab for testing and the results can come in 4-5 days.

What is ‘Vaccine Scam’?
The case of ‘fake vaccine camp’ in Kolkata has been in the news for some time. Here a person named Debanjan Dev, posing as an IAS officer, had organized two vaccine camps. It is believed that during this time about two thousand people including TMC MP got the vaccine. After the matter came to light, the police recovered fake labels of an antibiotic injection on the vial being used in place of many vaccines.
