New Delhi: Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari made a big announcement regarding toll plaza on Thursday. Nitin Gadkari said in Lok Sabha that all toll plazas will be abolished in the country in the next one year. However, this will not mean that toll will not have to be paid. Now GPS system will be installed in the vehicles with the help of which toll fee can be paid.

Thursday Nitin Gadkari said that during previous governments, tolls were made at many places within urban areas which is wrong and unjust. The work of removing them will be completed in one year. This information was given by House members Gurjit Aujla, Deepak Baij and Kunwar Danish Ali in response to supplementary questions during Question Hour in the Lok Sabha.

He said tolls within cities were created first. This is wrong and unjust. This toll will also end in a year. There were a lot of thefts in this type of toll. Along with this, he said that the government plans to eliminate all toll plazas in the next one year. Toll plaza will be finished but toll will have to be paid.

Toll plazas will end but toll will have to be paid. There will be a camera installed at the entry point and through GPS, the money will be deducted from where you entered and how far you go.

He said that now GPS system will be installed in the vehicles with the help of which toll fee can be paid and after this there will be no need of such toll inside the city. In response to another question, he said that we do not award the project without acquiring 90 percent of the land. After acquiring the land, a detailed project report (DPR) is prepared.

Gadkari, in reply to Deepak Baij’s supplementary question, said that the Green Highway between Raipur and Visakhapatnam has been approved. The work has started. The work is likely to be completed in about one and a half years. People of many states will benefit from this.
