It has been decided to impose more tax on toll plazas from April 1.
Traveling on highways and expressways will become expensive
NHAI has increased the toll tax on highways and expressways. NHAI has increased the rates after reviewing the toll rates. These include highways like Lucknow Highway, Delhi-Meerut Expressway, Eastern Peripheral Expressway, NH-9 and Delhi-Jaipur Highway. Let us tell you that NHAI has decided to increase the toll tax twice in the same year.
How much has the toll tax been increased
The toll tax has been increased by 5-10 rupees on most toll plazas. However, this rate is for small vehicles and for light commercial vehicles, the toll tax amount has been increased to 20-25 rupees. On highways like Lucknow-Kanpur, Ayodhya, Raebareli and Barabanki, the toll tax has been increased by 5-10 and 20-25 rupees.
NH-9 and Delhi-Meerut Expressway expensive
- Toll for car/jeep from Sarai Kale Khan to Meerut increased from Rs 165 to Rs 170
- Toll tax for light commercial vehicles is Rs 275
- Toll tax for trucks is Rs 580
- Those coming to Meerut from Ghaziabad will now have to pay Rs 75 instead of Rs 70
