According to Railways, Traveling Ticket Examiner (TTE) has the right to check train tickets from 6 am to 10 pm. In such a situation, if you are travelling, TTE cannot check your ticket after 10 pm.
However, if a passenger starts the train journey after 10 pm, TTE can check his ticket.
RPF, GRP personnel or other railway staff cannot check tickets. If someone does this, you can complain about him.
If you are traveling on middle berth then you can sleep on your berth only from 10 pm to 6 am. Only TTE and mobile squad have the right to check tickets inside or outside the train.
