Indian Railways has revised the timings of several major trains bound for North India. This change has had the most significant impact on key trains such as the Dibrugarh Rajdhani and the Avadh Assam Express.
Indian Railways: There is a very important update for passengers traveling by train. If you are planning to travel on trains bound for the Northeast in the coming days, please ensure you check your train’s schedule once before leaving home. Northern Railway has revised the timings of a total of four major trains, including key services such as the Dibrugarh Rajdhani and Avadh Assam Express. These changes have come into effect as of April 30, 2026. The Railways states that this partial revision to the timetable has been implemented citing operational reasons and for the convenience of passengers.
According to the official notification issued by the Railways, the timings for the following trains have been revised:
Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express (12424): This premium train, traveling from New Delhi to Dibrugarh, will now arrive at Dibrugarh at 06:20 AM, instead of its previous arrival time of 06:05 AM.
Avadh Assam Express (15910): This train, traveling from Lalgarh Junction to Dibrugarh, will now reach its destination at 14:15 PM, instead of 14:05 PM.
North East Express (12506): This train, traveling from Anand Vihar Terminal to Kamakhya Junction, will now arrive at Kamakhya at 16:25 PM, instead of 16:15 PM.
Brahmaputra Mail (15657): This train, traveling from Delhi Junction to Kamakhya Junction, will now arrive at the station at 13:25 PM, instead of 13:20 PM.

Although this change in timing may seem to amount to just a few minutes, given the crowds at railway stations and the security checks involved, passengers are advised to plan their journeys strictly according to the new schedule.
