U-turn of center in Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi High Court regarding Namaz, now said this

A day after Ramadan allowed devotees to visit Delhi’s Nizamuddin Markaz, the Center told the Delhi High Court that all religious ceremonies have been banned under the new disaster management rules in the capital, taking a U-turn. . The case involves Masjid Bungalow Wali in Nizamuddin, South Delhi, which has been closed since March last year, when a case was registered against people associated with the Tablighi Jamaat over the growing cases of Corona virus in India.

The High Court is hearing a petition filed by the Delhi Waqf Board requesting that people be allowed to offer Namaz inside the Markaz by relaxing restrictions.

On Monday, the High Court reacted sharply to the Centre’s statement stating that only 20 people from the list of 200 people verified by the police can be allowed to enter the mosque complex for Namaz at one go.

Disregarding the Kovid rules, the court asked the Center about the huge crowd that was overflowing at the ongoing Mahakumbh Mela in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, “Have you in your notifications also stopped the gathering of 20 people at once for religious places,” ”

The court has filed an affidavit asking the central government to show its new stand on banning all religious, political, educational, social and sports ceremonies.

The Delhi Waqf Board had told the court that it would be difficult to prepare a list of 200 people. To this, the court said that when there is no restriction on the number of devotees at any other religious place of worship, mosques also need not disclose the exact number of devotees. The court said that the list of 200 people is not acceptable. And this cannot happen.

Taking a U-turn on Tuesday, the Center gave information about the ban on all religious ceremonies, citing the guidelines of the Delhi Disaster Management Act. These rules apply only in Delhi.
