UIDAI has stopped these two services related to Aadhaar Card, you will be directly affected

Aadhaar Card is a very important document for every Indian in today’s time. It is very important for all of us to be fully updated of the details entered in the Aadhaar Card. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the issuing organization of Aadhaar Card, provides various services online to Aadhaar card holders. For this reason, Aadhar card holders get all the facilities sitting at home. However, UIDAI has recently closed two services related to Aadhaar for the time being. These services are linked to the common people and will have an impact on all Aadhar card holders.

1. Address Validation Letter: UIDAI has stopped the facility of updating address in Aadhaar Card through Address Validation Letter till further orders. Tenants and other Aadhar card holders were able to update their address through this facility. UIDAI has removed the option related to Address Validation Letter from its website. When Dainik Jagran contacted UIDAI in this regard through Twitter, the authority said, “Dear Resident, the facility of address validation letter has been stopped till further orders. You can update your address through any one address proof from this list of other valid address proofs (https://uidai.gov.in/images/commdoc/valid_documents_list.pdf).

What will be the effect: With this decision, such people will have to face trouble in updating the address in the Aadhaar card, who live on rent at some place or those who do not have any other document available for the amendment of the address.

2. Service related to Aadhaar Card Reprint also stopped

UIDAI has stopped the service of Aadhaar Card Reprint in the old style. Actually, now the UIDAI issues plastic PVC cards instead of the long and wide Aadhar cards as before. This card is the size of a debit card. It can be easily carried in pocket and wallet. Because of this, UIDAI has discontinued the old style card. In response to a user’s query on Twitter, Aadhaar Help Center tweeted, “Dear Resident, Order Aadhaar Reprint service has been suspended. Instead you can order Aadhaar PVC Card online. At the same time, if you want, you can also take a print out of E-Aadhaar and keep it in paper format.

What will be the effect: After this decision, you can only order Aadhaar PVC Card.
