In its series of tweets, the Unique Identification Authority of India has already informed the Aadhaar cardholders on how to change the name. address, date of birth, gender in an Aadhaar Card online. But recently UIDAI has also shared a direct link using which Aadhaar Cardholders can download a masked form of their Aadhaar Card online. A masked Aadhaar Card is nothing but a secure version of your Aadhaar Card where the first 8 digits of the Aadhaar number is replaced with “xxxx-xxxx” whereas only the last 4 digits of the Aadhaar Number are visible, according to UIDAI. A masked Aadhaar Card is also known as a duplicate form of the Aadhaar Card which you can use as a regular version of your Aadhaar since the details like name, date of birth, gender, address and the QR code remains the same as of a regular Aadhaar Card. How to download a masked Aadhaar Card online?
- Visit https://uidai.gov.in/ and under the ‘Aadhaar Enrolment’ section, click on ‘Download Aadhaar’
- Under the ‘I Have’ section, select the ‘Enrolment ID’ option.
- Now select the ‘Masked Aadhaar’ option under the ‘Select Your Preference’ section.
- Now enter your Enrolment ID/Aadhaar Number/VID, full name, pin code, and security code.
- Now accept the terms and conditions and click on ‘I Agree’
- Now you will get a one time password (OTP) in your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
- Enter the received OTP in the required space and click on ‘Download Aadhaar’
Upon successful verification, your masked Aadhaar Card will be downloaded in a pdf format. You can open the password-protected masked Aadhaar card by entering the first four letters of your name and the year of your birth.
How to download a masked Aadhaar Card online?
In order to download a masked Aadhaar Card online, UIDAI has revealed a direct link. In its recent tweet, UIDAI has stated that ‘You can download your Masked Aadhaar or Regular Aadhaar online from:https://eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in. You can use either: Aadhaar number, Your EID (enrolment ID), or Your Virtual ID (VID) to download your Aadhaar pdf.’ So to know the process how to download a masked Aadhaar Card online, follow the steps listed below:
Steps to download a masked Aadhaar Card using Aadhaar number online
- You can also download a masked Aadhaar Card online using your Aadhaar number. Follow the steps listed below for the same:
- Visit https://uidai.gov.in/ and go to the ‘My Aadhaar’ section.
- Now click on ‘Download Aadhaar’ and select ‘Aadhaar Number’ as your preference.
- Now enter your 12-digit Aadhaar Number or UID-Unique Identification Number and tick the ‘I want a masked Aadhaar’ option.
- Now enter the security code and click on ‘Send OTP’. You can also select the option ‘Enter TOTP’ to use the time-bound OTP.
- Now you will get a one time password on your registered mobile number. Enter the received OTP in the required space for verification and click on the ‘Download Aadhaar’ option.
- Steps to download a masked Aadhaar Card using Aadhaar VID or Virtual ID
- To download a masked Aadhaar Card using a Virtual ID or VID, follow the steps listed below:
- Visit https://uidai.gov.in/ and go to the ‘My Aadhaar’ section.
- Now under the ‘Aadhaar Services’ tab, click on ‘Virtual ID (VID) Generator’
- Now enter your 12-digit Aadhaar card number and captcha code for verification.
- Now click on ‘Send OTP’ and you will get a one time password in your registered mobile number.
- Now enter the received OTP in the required space and generate the Virtual ID.
- Now click on the ‘Download Aadhaar’ option under the ‘My Aadhaar’ section and select ‘Virtual ID (VID)’ as your preference.
- Now enter the generated Virtual ID and tick on the ‘I want a masked Aadhaar’ option.
- Now enter the CAPTCHA code and click on ‘Submit’
- You will now get another OTP in your registered mobile number, which you need to verify in order to download your masked Aadhaar Card online.
