UP Board Exams 2026: The Board of Secondary Education recently announced the board exam schedule for 10th and 12th grade students on November 5th. However, after a large number of students faced difficulties with some exam dates, the board announced changes to the schedule. The board also released the revised exam schedule. The changes were made on Tuesday. The new schedule will provide relief to many students. All exams will be held between February 18, 2026, and March 12, 2026. Students’ admit cards will be distributed by class teachers or principals at school.

English and Sanskrit exams were scheduled for the same day

In the previously released board exam schedule, the English and Sanskrit exams for intermediate grades were scheduled for the same day, in the morning and evening shifts. According to the new schedule, the English exam will be held on the scheduled date of February 20th in the second shift, but the Sanskrit exam will now be held on March 12th in the second shift instead of February 20th. If both the examinations were held on the same day, about 18,000 students would have to appear for the papers in both the shifts.

Hindi paper will be held in both shifts on February 18th.

The Hindi exam for high school and intermediate students will no longer be held in both shifts on February 18th. To reduce the number of exam centers, the board has decided to conduct the high school Hindi and elementary Hindi exams in the first shift on February 18th, and the intermediate General Hindi and Hindi subject exams in the second shift on February 18th.

Hindi paper shift

Previously, the Hindi and General Hindi papers for 10th and 12th grades were held in the same shift. This would have required over 4.3 million students to take the exam simultaneously. This could have posed a significant problem from a management perspective. Therefore, a change was made. Now, the High School Hindi paper will be held in the morning shift on February 18th, while the Intermediate Hindi paper will be held in the second shift. The 12th Sanskrit paper will be held in the second shift on March 12th.

Board Exams in Two Shifts

Class 10th and 12th board exams will be conducted in two shifts. The first shift will be from 8:30 am to 11:45 am, and the second shift will be from 2 pm to 5:15 pm.

Over 5.2 million students will appear for the exams.

5,230,297 students are registered for the UP Board 10th and 12th class board exams. Of these, 2,750,945 are in Class 10, including 1,438,683 boys and 1,312,263 girls. In Class 12, 2,479,352 students have registered, including 1,303,012 boys and 1,176,340 girls.
