UPI Payment Fee: Soon you may have to pay a fee to use UPI payment app. Actually, the government has drastically cut the subsidy given to merchants on UPI service. Therefore, companies are now preparing to recover it from customers. In such a situation, using UPI app will now be expensive. Companies have also started charging fees from customers. Google Pay has started charging fees for many transactions. Google Pay has imposed 0.5 percent and 1 percent fees on debit card and credit card. Paytm and PhonePe have also started charging fees for mobile recharge.

When and how much subsidy was received
For this item, a subsidy of Rs 2,600 crore was received from the government in the year 2023. At the same time, the amount of this subsidy was Rs 2,484 crore in the year 2024. At the same time, this subsidy has been reduced to Rs 477 crore for the year 2025.
