Uttarakhand: Night curfew reduced in many areas in view of festivals, know new timing

The Uttarakhand government has decided to impose night curfew in the Dehradun municipal limits from Saturday in view of the increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in the state.

The Uttarakhand Government announced on Tuesday that the night curfew time would be reduced in many districts in view of the upcoming festivals. The curfew will be from 10:30 am to 5 pm. Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat said, “This is applicable for the areas where the night curfew has been imposed.”

The Uttarakhand government has decided to impose night curfew in the Dehradun municipal limits from Saturday in view of the increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in the state. News agency ANI told that the curfew will remain in force for 7 hours between 10 pm and 5 am.

A spokesman for the state government said, the cabinet in its meeting today decided to impose curfew in Dehradun municipal limits between 10 am and 5 am. After the order, District Magistrate of Dehradun, Dr. Ashish Srivastava said, “Following the Cabinet’s order, the curfew will be implemented from last night.”




Meanwhile, according to the ANI report, Doon School has been declared as a Containment Area after 12 cases of Covid-19 on Thursday. The DM had said that there is a ban on entry and exit from the school and supplies of essential goods will be made.

He added, “The coronovirus test will be extended and four more areas have been declared as restricted areas apart from the Doon School.” Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat on Thursday issued instructions to take steps for coronavirus test and vaccination besides focusing more on tracing and micro containment areas to prevent the spread of infection.

Soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s virtual meeting with the Chief Ministers, Rawat, in a meeting with the officials, stressed the need to enhance RT-PCR test and work seriously on tracing and micro content zones.

According to the Union Health Ministry, 1,61,736 new cases of infection have been reported from across the country during the last 24 hours. With this, the number of infected in the country has increased to 1,36,89,453.

Out of a total of 1,36,89,453 infectives, the number of active cases is 12,64,698 and 12,64,698 people have been cured of the disease. In the last one day, the number of people who died of this disease stood at 879, while so far 1,71,058 people have died due to this epidemic.
