Vande Bharat Metro Train The second Vande Bharat Metro train will run from Agra to Lucknow. Presently Lucknow Intercity operates. Lucknow Intercity will run one pair of trips a day while Vande Bharat Metro will run three to four trips a day. Railway passengers will benefit from the increased frequency. Railway Division Agra will get one more Vande Bharat Metro train. The second metro train will operate between Agra Cantt and Lucknow. This train will have 13 coaches. This train will run at a speed of 125 to 130 km per hour. This train will be tested in July. Metro train operation will start from the last week of August.
The first Vande Bharat Metro train is to run between New Delhi and Agra. This train will be tested in this section. This train will replace New Delhi Intercity. Intercity rakes will be run in the second section. There will be a difference between Intercity and Vande Bharat. The Intercity operates one pair of trips (up and down) a day. In contrast, the metro train will make three to four trips a day. This will also provide convenience to the passengers in their transportation.
A Railway Ministry official said that New Delhi and Lucknow Intercity will not be removed initially. As soon as Vande Bharat Metro train starts running properly, removal of these two trains can be considered. The racks of both the trains will be used for some other stations.
