While Vande Bharat is a chair car train, Indian Railways is now working to introduce Vande Bharat in sleeper class. It is expected that many Vande Bharat sleeper trains will be seen in 2026.
Along with this, Amrit Bharat will also be available in AC. Amrit Bharat Express and Namo Bharat trains are expected to make travel even more comfortable for the common man. India may soon see its own indigenous bullet train.
Vande Bharat Sleeper Trains
Indian Railways will soon launch a sleeper version of the Vande Bharat Express. Until now, this train, available only as a chair car, will now become even more convenient for long-distance overnight journeys.
Since its launch in 2019, the Vande Bharat Express has been renowned for its speed and comfort. Now, its sleeper version brings a perfect blend of luxury and technology to passengers.
A prototype of the first AC coach of the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train has been unveiled. It was designed by an Indo-Russian joint venture called Kinet Railway Solutions. This model is modern, attractive, and passenger-friendly.

Safety Measures and Features
It features crash buffers and deformation tubes. Fire-resistant walls have been installed between the coaches. This train will have Wi-Fi access, modern sleeper berths, and an airline-style interior.
The Vande Bharat Sleeper Train will have a total of 16 coaches:
- First AC
- Second AC (2-tier)
- Third AC (3-tier)
- They are building this train.
Changes to the Amrit Bharat Express, these amenities being added
Passengers will now also have access to AC coaches on the Amrit Bharat Express. The third version of the train will arrive soon. First, second, and third-class air-conditioned (AC) coaches are being manufactured rapidly at the Chennai Integrated Rail Coach Factory. The coach composition of the new Amrit Bharat Express 3.0 has been approved by the Railway Board.
This will be a 22-coach train. It will include six second-class sleeper and general coaches, one first-AC, two second-AC, and six third-AC coaches. There will also be an air-conditioned pantry car.
There will be one power coach at the front and rear. Integral Coach Factory, Perambur, Chennai, Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala, and Modern Coach Factory, Rae Bareli have been informed of this.
The Amrit Bharat trains, scheduled to begin service in 2023, are affordable and high-quality services for low- and middle-income groups. The first version of the Amrut Bharat Express is built with two engines on both sides and includes sleeper and general coaches.
