Vande Bharat: Vande Bharat Express to Run Between Howrah–New Delhi via Dhanbad Vande Bharat train may soon be on track between Howrah and New Delhi via Dhanbad. Preparations have begun to run the Howrah-New Delhi Vande Bharat train six days a week. This train will have stoppages at Dhanbad, Gaya, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay, Prayagraj and Kanpur Central stations.
The journey from Howrah to New Delhi by Howrah-New Delhi Rajdhani Express takes 17 hours 15 minutes and from Dhanbad to New Delhi takes 14 hours 05 minutes. There is a possibility of saving of one and a half to two hours in the journey to New Delhi by Vande Bharat Express.
The timetable for both Howrah and New Delhi has been finalized. Deliberations regarding operations are ongoing at the Railway Board. The new train is expected to be approved in a day or two. This train will cover the 1449-kilometer distance between Howrah and New Delhi in less than 15 hours.
Will run on all days except Sundays, reducing passenger congestion on both Rajdhani Expresses
The Vande Bharat Express will run six days except Sundays. This will reduce passenger congestion on trains like the Howrah and Sealdah-New Delhi Rajdhani and Sealdah-Bikaner Duronto trains that run via Dhanbad. It will also provide a new high-speed train option from Dhanbad to Delhi.
Currently, the Vande Bharat Express is the only train running between Howrah and Gaya via Dhanbad. The Howrah-New Delhi train will be the second Vande Bharat Express to pass through Dhanbad.
The possibility of converting to a sleeper train will be explored in the future.
The train from Howrah will currently operate with AC chair car and executive class. Later, depending on the availability of the train, the possibility of operating this train with a sleeper Vande Bharat train will be explored.
