In the last few months, Railways has started Vande Bharat train in many states. Recently, on May 18, PM Modi has flagged off the Vande Bharat train between Puri Howrah Vande Bharat Train in Odisha.
Along with the Vande Bharat train, the Railways is preparing to operate the Vande Metro. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has given information about a new route for Vande Metro. Along with this, he also told in which state Vande Metro will be started.
Vande metro will start soon in this state
Giving information about this, Ashwini Vaishnav has told that after getting the gift of Vande Bharat train, Odisha (Vande Metro in Odisha) can get the gift of another new train. Railways can start Vande Metro in Odisha between Puri-Bhubaneswar-Cuttack. This special train can be started between January-February 2024.
What is Vande Metro?
Significantly, Vande Metro is a smaller version of Vande Bharat train, which will be run between two cities with short distance. The government had announced this train in the budget 2023-24. Through this train, two cities of less than 100 km distance will be connected. Railways has a plan that Vande Metro will be operated between 50 to 60 kilometers in big cities where large population lives. Significantly, the Railways has made a plan to start Vande Metro on the lines of Vande Bharat train.
Railway is trying to provide premium local train facility to the people for this train. This train will mainly prove to be beneficial for those people who work in cities and every day they come from nearby cities to big cities for work. Passengers will get world class facilities in this train.
Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat started operations
It is worth noting that on May 18, Prime Minister Modi had flagged off the country’s 17th and Odisha’s first Vande Bharat train through video conferencing. Through this train, the journey between Howrah to Puri will be completed in just 6.25 hours. Along with this, there will be an opportunity to connect both the major tourism cities through this train.
