Varanasi: After the decision of the Divisional Transport Authority (RTA), the Transport Department has started clamping down on auto rickshaw operators. Petrol powered autos will not be seen on the streets of Varanasi in the coming days. After March 31, only CNG Auto will be allowed to run in the city. Letter has been issued to all auto drivers.
Auto permit without CNG kit will be canceled
If anyone runs an auto without a CNG kit, their permit will be canceled. In the (RTA) meeting, by March 31, all auto rickshaws were instructed to be converted into CNG. Remote rickshaw drivers have been given time to install CNG kits within six months. A list of auto drivers is being made. Notice will be sent to all of them.
Campaign will be conducted
After March 31, the campaign will be conducted without any CNG kit. According to the RTO, such steps are being taken due to increasing pollution in the city. Auto rickshaw drivers operating in rural areas have been given six months time. Please tell that in the meeting of (RTA), by March 31, all the auto rickshaws were instructed to convert to CNG. In an RTA meeting held on February 25 last month, Mandalayak Deepak Aggarwal has instructed to convert 22500 auto-rickshaws operating in the city into CNG.
