VI won the 5G internet speed race, leaving behind Jio and Airtel to record such a dangerous speed

Vodafone Idea (VI) on Sunday claimed that it has achieved the highest internet speed of 3.7 Gbps during its 5G trial in Pune.

NEW DELHI: Telecom giant Vodafone Idea ( Vodafone Idea ) claimed the Highest Speed 3.7 GBPS during 5G trial. This is by far the highest speed by any telecom operator in India. According to the company, the VI has achieved a downloading speed of 1.5 Gbps on the mid-band spectrum in Gandhinagar and Pune.




How was the test done?

The company said in a statement that VI has conducted its 5G trial in Pune in a lab set-up of an end-to-end captive network of cloud cores, new generation transport and radio access networks. It said that in this trial, the VI achieved a top speed of over 3.7 Gbps with very low latency on the MM Wave spectrum band.

Very low latency

VI ( Vodafone Idea ) has been allocated high-frequency bands such as 26 gigahertz ( Ghz ) by the Department of Telecommunications. Also, the traditional 3.5 GHz spectrum band has been allocated for trials of 5G networks.

Telecom Department has approved the trial

The applications of Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone were approved by the Department of Telecommunications ( DoT ) in May. After this MTNL has been approved. Permission for 5G trial was given to telecom companies for 6 months. In which telecom companies are doing 5G trials in collaboration with Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung and C-DOT.




VI outperforms other companies

Prior to VI, Reliance Jio had claimed in June that it had achieved a top speed of 1 Gbps in the trial. At the same time, Bharti Airtel also claimed to have achieved the same speed in July. But now VI has surpassed these two companies and has achieved a speed of 3.7 Gbps. Reliance Jio is using its own technology for 5G trials.

All private companies are preparing for 5G

At present, all telecom companies in India are providing only 4G service and are preparing to adopt 5G technology as soon as possible. On the other hand, the state-owned telecom operator BSNL has not yet rolled out 4G across India.
