Visa Rule Change: Government of this country changed visa laws for family members of Indians

Foreigners account for about 3.2 million of Kuwait’s total population of 4.6 million. The country is attempting to replace foreign workers with its own citizens as part of a policy to address its population imbalance and provide more employment to Kuwaitis. Many steps are being taken for this.

Kuwait City: The Kuwait government has tightened dependent visa rules for people from other countries working in the country. Kuwait on Friday introduced these important amendments to the application process for dependent visas, which become effective from Sunday. Under the new rules announced by the Ministry of Interior, now migrants wishing to call their families will need more salary and other things. According to the new regulation effective from Sunday, the salary limit for eligibility for dependent visa has been increased to 800 Kuwaiti Dinar. The move is aimed at ensuring that applicants have enough money to support their dependents or family.

The new rules will also require expatriates to hold a university degree and ensure that their occupational field in Kuwait matches their educational qualifications, Gulf News reports. A large number of Indians also work in Kuwait, so these new rules can increase tension for Indians also. These new rules of Kuwait are also being seen as part of the increasing demand in the country for some time to provide employment to locals instead of foreigners. There is a large number of foreigners in Kuwait’s population, and local people have been asking many questions about this for some time.

Kuwait becomes strict on illegal immigrants too

The Kuwaiti government has in recent times tightened visa regulations and the entry and stay of expatriates into the country. On January 21, the Kuwaiti government decided to deport illegal immigrants after halting the short-term order of a fine-waiver scheme. A security source was quoted as saying that the Interior Ministry is moving ahead with its plan to deport those who violate residency rules from the country, as was the case in the previous period. Kuwait has decided to send back about one lakh people living illegally. Kuwaiti authorities have put on hold a short-term decree allowing illegal immigrants who arrived in the country before 2020 to readjust their status in exchange for paying specific fines. About 1,10,000 foreigners living in the country illegally were to benefit from this system. Under the new rules, now these people will have to leave Kuwait.
