The Vivo S50 series is launching in China in December. The company is set to launch a pair of new phones under this lineup — the Vivo S50 and the Vivo S50 Pro Mini. Ahead of the official launch, Vivo has now revealed some major specifications of the Pro Mini version. The device will be powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. This is also a flagship-level processor that will be used in affordable premium phones. The design of the Vivo S50 Pro Mini has also been revealed. It has a camera module that looks like the iPhone Air. The phone may come in global markets including India as the Vivo X300 FE.
Vivo S50 Pro Mini will be a compact flagship phone
A Vivo official has revealed the major specifications of the Vivo S50 Pro Mini. He said that the phone will come with a 6.31-inch display. That is, it will offer a compact design. The handset will be equipped with a dual rear camera setup. It will consist of a large primary sensor and a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto lens.
The Vivo S50 Pro Mini will feature a 50-megapixel selfie camera on the front. The upcoming smartphone will offer full focal length zoom like the brand’s expensive flagship models. The handset will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, which will be paired with LPDDR5X Ultra RAM. It is capable of delivering a maximum speed of 9,600 Mbps. It will also have UFS 4.1 storage.
This is the first time that the latest flagship Snapdragon processor will be used in a smartphone from the Vivo S series. Vivo claims that the device has scored over 3 million points on the AnTuTu benchmark. Its haptics will be handled by an X-axis linear motor. For biometric security, there will be a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.
The Vivo S50 Pro Mini model will come with IP68 + IP69 water and dust resistance. The company has also confirmed the battery specifications. The phone will have a 6,500mAh ‘Blue C’ battery that will support 90W wired and 40W wireless fast charging.
Incidentally, the Vivo X300 series will be officially launched on December 2 at 12 noon . The Vivo X300 and X300 Pro were released in China and global markets in October. The biggest attraction of both the phones is the camera setup. The phones have imaging systems from German optical giant Zeiss, a 200-megapixel rear camera, a 50-megapixel selfie camera, and a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor.
