Voter Registration Rule: Under the voter list revision campaign in Bhadohi, young people who have turned 18 will now have to fill out a declaration form along with Form 6 to get their names included. This form requires providing details of a relative from the 2003 voter list. If this information is provided, no additional documentary evidence will be required. Otherwise, documents such as an Aadhaar card, birth certificate, or residence certificate will be required. This new system will streamline the process.
Voter Registration Rule: In the voter list intensive revision campaign being run to include the names of youth who have completed the age of 18 years on January 1, 2016, in the voter list, applicants will now have to fill a declaration form while filling Form 6.
Under the new system, the declaration form will have to include the details of any of their relatives, parents, grandparents, or great-grandparents, included in the voter list of 2003. Along with this, several other options have also been given along with Aadhar card for proof of date of birth and residential address.
When filling out Form 6 to include a name in the voter list, the Aadhaar card is valid as proof of date of birth and residential address.
In addition, other options are available for proof of date of birth, including birth certificates and high school/intermediate mark sheets with the date of birth. For proof of residential address, other options are available, including the Aadhaar card and a residence certificate. Any one of these will be valid as documentary evidence.
District Magistrate Shailesh Kumar stated that a new feature when filling out the form is that the applicant must search for the name of one of their parents, grandparents, or great-grandparents included in the final voter list of 2003 and fill in their information in the declaration form.
If this information is completed, the name will be added to the voter list without any additional documentary evidence. If this information is not entered while filling out Form 6, the applicant will be issued a notice by the Electoral Registration Officer.
The applicant must provide documentary evidence from a list of documents on the notice. Upon providing this documentary evidence, the applicant’s name will be added to the voter list.
