Vasai Virar Water Cut: The scorching summer heat has begun to take its toll across several states of the country. Mumbai, in particular, typically experiences warm weather, with winter being relatively mild. Amidst this, significant news has emerged for the residents of Vasai-Virar, a region adjacent to Mumbai. The Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation has announced a suspension of water supply from April 4 to April 10. The administration will implement this suspension in a phased manner; each locality will undergo a 24-hour shutdown. Consequently, the city is expected to face a water deficit of approximately 150 Million Liters per Day (MLD).
According to a report published by NDTV Marathi, the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation administration has appealed to residents to use water judiciously and to store it as per their requirements. The Corporation stated that the water supply would be disrupted due to technical maintenance work being carried out under the Surya Water Supply Scheme.

Prithviraj B.P. was appointed as the new Commissioner of the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation on Wednesday. Previously, Manoj Kumar Suryavanshi held this position. The new Commissioner clarified that he would pay special attention to improving basic civic amenities, ensuring transparency in administration, and environmental conservation. He also expressed his resolve to develop Vasai-Virar into a ‘growth hub’ through planned urban development.
