Cold westerly winds and fog continue to grip Bihar. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of dense fog in several districts, including Sitamarhi and Shivhar. Maximum temperatures are expected to rise over the next 48 hours, but the chill will persist. Patna recorded a minimum temperature of 9.0 degrees Celsius. The department has predicted a cold wave in western Bihar and cold day conditions in other areas.
Weather Update: Cold westerly winds will continue to cause a chill in the state. Light to moderate fog will prevail in Patna and other parts, with sunshine during the day.
A warning has been issued for very dense fog in Sitamarhi, Shivhar, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria, and Kishanganj, among other areas. A one to three degree increase in maximum temperature is possible during the next 48 hours.
The lowest minimum temperature in the state was recorded at 5.1 degrees Celsius in Agwanpur, Saharsa. Patna’s minimum temperature was 9.0 degrees Celsius. Except for Valmiki Nagar, Forbesganj, and Munger, the minimum temperatures in other districts, including Patna, were recorded below 10 degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperature in the capital increased by two degrees, settling at 19.6 degrees Celsius. Kishanganj recorded the highest maximum temperature at 24.2 degrees Celsius. Maximum temperatures increased in 15 districts, including Patna.
The lowest visibility was recorded at zero meters in Gayaji. Bhagalpur recorded 20 meters and Patna recorded 50 meters. According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature this month is expected to be between nine and 12 degrees Celsius.
A cold wave is expected to intensify in western Bihar, while cold day conditions will prevail in southeastern and northern Bihar. The capital will experience reduced westerly winds and fog, leading to sunshine during the day. However, a chilly effect will persist during this period.
