Work From Home: Infosys has said that it will make some changes in its attendance software to ensure that employees work from the office at least 10 days a month. Infosys said in an email sent to functional heads that this new policy will come into effect from March 10, 2025. These new changes will impose a limit on the number of work-from-home days every month.
“To implement this, certain changes will be made to the system from March 10, 2025, which will limit the number of work-from-home days each month. This move has been taken to ensure compliance with the new hybrid work rules while also providing flexibility to employees,” the report said, citing the email, according to a report in The Economic Times.
Who will be affected?
This decision will affect employees of Job Level 5 (JL5) and below out of Infosys’ 3.23 lakh employees. JL5 employees are team leaders, while the ranks below this include software engineers, senior engineers, system engineers and consultants.
These people are not included: Managers, Senior Managers, Delivery Managers and Senior Delivery Managers come in the ranks of JL6 and above. However, Vice Presidents are not included in this.
Why is Infosys calling the office?
Infosys wants employees to come to the office and work so that there can be better coordination with the team and the working culture of the company can be strengthened. Also, this step is also to promote collaboration and innovation among employees. However, the company has also ensured that employees get flexibility and they can also work from home for some days. Another employee was quoted as saying that this step is more of a project requirement rather than a unit requirement.
