Youth will get unemployment allowance up to Rs 3,000 every month, know the terms and conditions

Karnataka Unemployment Stipend: Karnataka Government has announced to give unemployment allowance of Rs 1500 to Rs 3000 per month to unemployed youth. Know what are its terms and conditions.

Karnataka Unemployment Stipend: Karnataka’s Siddaramaiah government on Friday launched Congress’s fifth ‘Guarantee’ by giving monthly unemployment allowance of Rs 3,000 to graduate pass youth and Rs 1,500 to diploma holders. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah symbolically inaugurated the “Youth Fund” scheme and handed over checks to six beneficiaries. This scheme is for those graduate and diploma holder youth who passed in the academic year 2022-23 and are unemployed even after 180 days of completing their education.

These people can avail benefits, approval given for Rs 250 crore

Unemployment allowance will be given only for two years and it will end immediately after the beneficiary gets a job. Youth who have registered for higher education and want to study further are not eligible for this scheme. The state government has approved Rs 250 crore for this scheme in the current financial year. It estimates that it will cost the government exchequer Rs 1,200 crore next year and Rs 1,500 crore every year from 2026 onwards.

CM Siddaramaiah said- ’70 thousand young men and women nominated’

Launching the scheme, CM Siddaramaiah said, ‘Swami Vivekananda had said that he would not believe in a religion which does not provide food to the hungry. On the occasion of his birth anniversary, Yuva Nidhi Yojana is being launched to ensure that the youth are not disappointed and they can be empowered for the future. Deputy CM DK Shivkumar and I, along with Randeep Surjewala, have implemented all five guarantees as promised in the election manifesto. 70 thousand young men and women have enrolled under the Yuva Nidhi Scheme.

The Congress government has already started four guarantees, which include ‘Shakti’ which provides free travel to Karnataka women in government buses, ‘Anna Bhagya’ which provides 10 kg rice to BPL families, ‘Griha’ which provides free electricity up to 200 units. Jyoti’ and ‘Griha Lakshmi’ which gives Rs 2,000 every month to female heads of families holding APL/BPL ration cards.
