7th Pay Commission: Big News! When will 18 months DA arrears come, know here what is the new update in this matter, check details immediately

7th Pay Commission: Modi government has given good news to the central employees twice this year. Now the central employees are waiting for their DA arrears stuck for 18 months. According to the reports, in the ongoing month of November, the central government may decide on the DA arrears of 18 months.

The pensioners had staged a sit-in on September 7 over the arrears of 18 months DA and have also written a letter to the Finance Ministry and Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding this. Now this matter is with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and it is expected that he can find a solution in the month of November itself. However, no official statement has been given by the government on this yet.

What did the pensioners say in the letter to Modi

The Indian Pensioners’ Forum (BMS) has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to clear the arrears of Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) of central employees and pensioners. Manch has written a letter to PM Modi asking him to help in this matter. In May 2020, the Finance Ministry had stopped the DA hike till 30 June 2021 due to the Kovid-19 epidemic. After this, it was asked to restore it again from July 1, 2021.

DA increased for the second time in a year

The central government had earlier increased the DA rate from 17 per cent to 28 per cent in July this year. Then it was increased once again and now the DA rate has been increased to 31 per cent with an increase of three per cent. Now it is expected that taking cognizance of the letter of the pensioners, the Prime Minister can take a decision on it this month.

There was also a demand to increase the fitment factor

After the increase in dearness allowance, now there is a demand to increase the fitment factor of central employees. Based on the recommendations of the 7th CPC, fitment factor was implemented to increase the minimum wages of central employees. Due to this, the minimum wage of the employees directly increased from Rs 6000 to Rs 18000. The fitment factor has been fixed at 2.57, but central employees demand that it be fixed at 3.

What is fitment factor

The fitment factor plays an important role in deciding the salary of central employees. According to the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission, the salary of central employees is determined by their basic salary and fitment factor in addition to allowances. While fixing the salary of the employees, the basic salary along with Dearness Allowance (DA), Traveling Allowance (TA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) is worked out by multiplying the 7th Pay Commission fitment factor 2.57.
