This gift will be an increase in DA (DA Hike) for the second half of the year i.e. from July to December. Earlier, in recent times, many states have increased dearness allowance by up to 4 percent. However, this increase has been made for the first half of the year i.e. from January to June.

Increase in many states

Recently, different state governments including Madhya Pradesh, Sikkim Odisha, Karnataka, Jharkhand and Himachal Pradesh increased dearness allowance for their employees. This increase has been up to 4 percent. In most states, now employees are getting 42 percent allowance instead of 38 percent. Let us tell you that the Central Government had announced to increase the allowance for its employees in the month of March.

Waiting for the second half

It is believed that the Central Government may announce DA increase between Navratri and Diwali. It is estimated that the DA of central government employees will be increased by 3 percent. It will be made effective from July 1, 2023. Let us tell you that in the last increase in March 2023, DA was increased by 4 percent to 42 percent.

Formula for calculating DA

The increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) of pensioners is calculated on the basis of percentage increase in the 12 monthly average of All India Consumer Price Index.
