7th Pay Commission: Will DA’s arrears get stuck! Increased restlessness of employees, decision may be taken this month

Central employees are eagerly waiting for the talks to start regarding the arrears of their Dearness Allowance (DA).

7th Pay Commission: Central employees are eagerly waiting for the talks to start regarding the arrears of their Dearness Allowance (DA). These talks are to be held between the National Council of JCM headed by Central Government Employees (CGS) and central government officials from the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Finance and Department of Personnel and Training.

DA arrears waited long

These talks with the officials of the central government were to be held in May last month, but it seems that now it will have to wait a little longer. The talks about the 7th Pay Commission’s DA installments which were to be held in the last week of May, could not happen. According to the National Council-JCM, now this meeting is expected to be held in this month i.e. June.

Actually, due to the Corona epidemic, restrictions were in force in Delhi, due to which the meeting regarding three installments of DA could not be held. Central employees are to be paid three DA installments from June 1, 2020, which was frozen by the central government till June 30, 2021. With the receipt of these installments, the Central Government employees can see a huge jump in the pay matrix of the Seventh Pay Commission.

Next meeting may be held this month

On the proposed meeting regarding DA arrears of central employees, JCM’s National Council Secretary Shiva Gopal Mishra says that the meeting with the officials of Finance Ministry and DoPT was to be held in May 2021, which could not be done due to Corona epidemic lockdown . Now this meeting can be held between the second and third week of June.

Shiva Gopal Mishra says that the delay in the meeting regarding the payment of DA installments should not be viewed in a negative way, because the central government officials are cooperating a lot regarding the DA arrears of the central employees. Rather, the National Council-JCM is also ready to find a middle way regarding the payment of DA arrears. In this regard, JCM has also given a proposal to the representatives of the Central Government that if there is a problem in paying the DA installments together, then it can be done in several pieces.

There will be a meeting in the second or third week!

The initial meeting between the representatives of the Central Government and the National Council-JCM was scheduled on 8 May 2021, but was postponed due to the Corona epidemic. It was again decided in the last week of May 2021, but due to Corona restrictions, this time also the meeting could not be held. Now that relief is being given in Corona restrictions in Delhi, the National Council-JCM expects this meeting to be held in the second or third week of this month.

Employees disappointed about DA arrears

The central government has announced that the DA of central employees will be restored from July 1, 2021. But in this official announcement, nothing has been said about the payment of three DA installments. Central employees expected that along with the restoration of DA, DA arrears of three installments would also be available. But now again and again disappointed by the postponement of meetings.
