More than 400 farmers missing after Delhi violence, issue raised

During the Kisan Parade on January 26, the case of missing farmers during the violence in the Red Fort and various areas of Delhi has started to become politically hot in Punjab. Farmer organizations and religious organizations across the state have alleged the disappearance of more than 400 farmers and youth and the Delhi Police is being pointed at in this regard.

Many farmer organizations and religious organizations associated with Punjab have alleged that more than 400 young and elderly farmers are missing during the Delhi violence. The Khalda Mission in Amritsar has alleged that all the missing persons are in the illegal custody of Delhi Police. The mission has decided to knock the High Court door on Monday in this matter. Sarabjit Singh Verka, the investigating officer of the Human Rights Organization of Punjab, questioned the Delhi Police that no person can be detained for long without a case, so give police information about the people caught. He said that complete preparations have also been made to take the matter to Delhi High Court.

Hakam Singh, lawyer of Punjab and Haryana High Court, who is also involved in the search for the missing people, says that 80-90 young men from Punjab went to Singhu and Tikri Border on 26 January. All those young farmers have not yet returned to their camps after the violence. A group of lawyers are trying to find them and for this we are in contact with the police, farmer organizations and hospitals.




11 youth of Moga closed in Tihar: Sirsa

The 11 youth of Moga district who were missing during the tractor parade in Delhi are lodged in Tihar Jail in Delhi, who were arrested under Nangloi police station. On Saturday, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, the head of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, made this charge in a live statement on his Facebook account. He said that after January 26, photographs of the missing youth are constantly going viral on social media. He also said that the DSGMC will fight a legal battle for the farmers who have been accused in the January 26 tractor parade.

Moga are being searched for 12 farmers of a village of Moga who are missing since the tractor parade in Delhi on 26 January. The concerned Gram Panchayat has released photographs and identification of the missing farmers. The names of these farmers are Amritpal Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Daljinder Singh, Jagdeep Singh, Jagdish Singh, Navdeep Singh, Balveer Singh, Bhag Singh, Harjinder Singh, Ranjit Singh, Ramandeep Singh and Jaswant Singh.

Punjab police should be deployed for the safety of farmers: Bajwa

Rajya Sabha member Pratap Singh Bajwa has written a letter to Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, demanding to take the case of the missing persons to the Center. In a letter written on Saturday, Bajwa said that it has been reported that more than 100 farmers of the state have been missing since the events on 26 January in Delhi. Their families are still not getting any information about them. As the State Conservator you are requested to use all the resources available to the Punjab Government to locate these farmers and ensure their return to their families. Bajwa wrote on Friday on the Singhu Border, citing violence by some factions against farmers, saying that it is clear that our farmers who are holding peaceful protests are threatened by various factions. Bajwa has also demanded from the Chief Minister that Punjab Police personnel be deployed to protect the farmers.
