The Prime Minister flagged off the Amrit Bharat Express between Gaya and Delhi and the Buddhist Circuit Train between Vaishali and Koderma. The Buddhist Circuit Train aims to promote tourism and enhance spiritual and cultural connectivity between the major Buddhist sites in the region.
Amrit Bharat Express : A new Amrit Bharat train from Gaya in Bihar to Delhi is going to start from 22 August 2025 i.e. today. East Central Railway has released other information including the timing and stoppage of this train. The Prime Minister has flagged off the Gaya-Delhi Amrit Bharat Express train on Friday itself. The Prime Minister has also flagged off the Buddhist Circuit Train between Vaishali and Koderma. The aim of the Buddhist Circuit Train is to promote tourism and promote spiritual and cultural connectivity among the major Buddhist sites of the region. According to East Central Railway, common people will be able to travel by this train from August 28.
When will it be available for you
East Central Railway says that train number 13697 Gaya-Delhi Amrit Bharat Express will depart from Gaya at 16:30 and reach Delhi at 12:00. Similarly, train number 13698 Delhi-Gaya Amrit Bharat Express will depart from Delhi at 14:00 and reach Gaya at 8:55. This train will reach its destination, stopping at a total of 9 stations between Delhi and Gaya.

Train number 13697 will run from Gaya on Sunday and Thursday from 28 August 2025, while train number 13698 will run from Delhi on Monday and Friday from 29 August 2025 till further orders. This train will have 11 general coaches, while there will be 8 sleeper coaches. Booking for reservation in sleeper coach has started. You will have to pay Rs 560 for reservation in sleeper coach from Gaya to Delhi.
At which stations will there be stoppages
Gaya-Delhi-Gaya Amrit Bharat Express will run between the two cities, stopping at Anugrah Narayan Road, Dehri Onson, Sasaram, Bhabua Road, Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay, Subedar Ganj, Govindpuri, Tundla and Ghaziabad respectively. Amrit Bharat Express will take a total of 19 hours 30 minutes to cover the distance between Gaya and Delhi Junction. The train will cover a total distance of 983 km between the two cities.
New fast MEMU train between Vaishali and Koderma
Railways has also started a new fast MEMU train between Vaishali and Koderma. Train number 03624 Gaya – Vaishali MEMU Fast Passenger (one way) and train number 03626 Gaya – Koderma Fast MEMU Passenger were operated as inaugural special trains.
