Voting for the Lok Sabha elections 2024 in the country will begin from April 19 and the result will be declared on June 4, 2024. According to the Reserve Bank of India, many banks will remain closed on the election day in their respective cities. According to the RBI holiday calendar for the year 2024, banks in these states and cities will remain closed due to elections.

Banks of which cities will remain closed due to elections on 19th April?

Lok Sabha General Election 2024, Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2024, By-election is to be held for Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from Vilavancode constituency of Kanyakumari district. Banks in the cities of Chennai, Dehradun, Itanagar, Jaipur, Kohima, Nagpur and Shillong will remain closed on April 19, 2024, due to the Lok Sabha elections.

Elections in the country are to be held in 7 phases

Elections will be held in seven phases. The first phase will be on 19 April, the second on 26 April, the third on 7 May, the fourth on 13 May, the fifth on 20 May, the sixth on 25 May and the seventh phase on 1 June 2024.

Uttarakhand

The Uttarakhand government has declared a public holiday on April 19, the day of voting, before the Lok Sabha elections in the country. Now banks will remain closed in these states and cities tomorrow.
