Gadkari says that there are plans to lay tracks like the railways on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway to run electric buses. At the same time, it will take only around 12 hours to reach Delhi-Mumbai due to the construction of this expressway. The 1258 km long expressway will cost around Rs 1 lakh crore. The target of completing this highway has been set for January 2023. This highway will be Green High Way. This will save about 32 crore liters of fuel every year. This will reduce the emission of about 85 million kilometers of carbon dioxide annually, which is equivalent to planting 40 million trees.
