ED attaches assets of more than 8 crores of Bollywood celebrities

Sterling Biotech case: The special court has declared the absconders of Nitin Sandesara, Chetan Sandesara, Dipti Chetan Sandesara and Hitesh Patel. According to media reports, the Sandesara brothers are hiding in Albania, where they have also acquired citizenship.




New Delhi. The Enforcement Directorate, which is probing money laundering in the Sterling Biotech loan scam case, took major action against many people including Bollywood celebrities. ED has attached assets worth Rs 8 crore on Friday. The names of these celebrities include actor Dino Morea, Sanjay Khan, son-in-law of late Congress leader Ahmed Patel. Even before this, the ED has attached properties worth more than Rs 14 thousand crore.

The ED has informed that these include eight immovable properties, three vehicles and several bank accounts, shares and mutual funds. The cost of all these is Rs 8.79 crore. The attached properties belong to Sanjay Khan (3 crore), Dino Morea (1.40 crore), Aqeel Abdulkhaleel Bachuali (1.98 crore), Irfan Ahmed Siddiqui (2.41 crore), the agency said in the statement.

This ED case is based on the FIR registered by the CBI against the fugitive Sandesara brothers Nitin and Chetan’s company Sterling Biotech. The agency issued a statement saying that the ED investigation has revealed that the Sandesara brothers gave Rs 3 crore proceeds from the crime to Sanjay Khan, Rs 1.4 crore to Dino Morea, Rs 12.54 crore to Aqeel Bachuali and Rs 3.51 crore to Irfan Ahmed Siddiqui. Huh.

The statement said, ‘Earlier the ED had attached movable/immovable property only worth Rs 14 thousand 513 crore. With this new attachment, the amount has reached 14 thousand 521.80 crores. The total proceeds of the offense in this case is more than Rs 16,000 crore.

The special court has declared the absconders of Nitin Sandesara, Chetan Sandesara, Dipti Chetan Sandesara and Hitesh Patel. According to media reports, the Sandesara brothers are hiding in Albania, where they have also acquired citizenship. The Indian side is constantly trying to extradite him. According to the language, the ED had registered a case of alleged bank loan fraud in 2017 based on the FIR registered by the CBI. Late Patel and his son Faisal were also questioned by the ED in the case in July last year and their statements were recorded.
