After the death of the pensioner, the spouse or family members of the deceased are asked by the banks to produce a lot of documents for starting the family pension. However, there are many documents which are not required, causing nuisance to family members and delay in starting pension. The Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions has asked all banks to expedite the process of settlement of all family pension matters with them.
