In the Rajya Sabha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave the answer to the farmer agitators and the Congress with the help of the statements and deeds of the three former Prime Ministers, reminding the Sikhs of 1984.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded to the Rajya Sabha to the people running the movement against the new agricultural law and the parties supporting him. With the help of the famous farmer leader and former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh, he tried to convince the people of West UP. On the other hand, on the pretext of the statement of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on agricultural reforms, he tried to surround the Congress. Lal Bahadur Shastri’s bravery was also mentioned on the reforms.

Not only this, by referring to the 1984 riots, they tried to convince the agitating Sikhs that the Congress could not do them any good. Clearly said that some people are filling wrong things in the minds of Sikh brothers. The Prime Minister once again said that there was MSP, there is MSP and there will be MSP. Do not spread confusion among farmers. The burden has to be reduced on the farmer. Efforts are being made to make the mandis more modern.

Mention of farmers’ problems

PM Modi said, there are about 12 crore small farmers in the country, out of which 86 percent are small farmers. He could neither get the benefit of crop insurance nor loan from banks. Everyone is familiar with the problems of small farmers. Sharad Pawar and Congress leaders have also advocated for agricultural reforms. Everyone knows that it should be. Pawar just said that he is in support of the reforms. Yes, they may object to the method.

Meaning of referring to Charan Singh

To advocate agricultural reforms, Prime Minister Modi presented examples of such people whose agitators take names everyday. So he resorted to Chaudhary Charan. Farmers of West UP and Haryana consider him very much. People of this area are also more in this movement. In such a situation, Modi said, “What is the fundamental problem of farming. I want to mention what former PM Chaudhary Charan Singh had told. Referred to 1971 census of agriculture. It was found that 33 percent of the farmers are those who have land less than two bighas, two bighas. 18 percent farmers who own two to 4 bighas of land. No matter how hard they try, they cannot be in it. The pitiable condition of small farmers used to torment them. ”

Number of farmers with less land is increasing

Modi said, “Farmers who had less than one hectare of land were 51 percent. Now 68 percent have been done. There are growing farmers in the country who have very little land. 86 percent farmers have less than 2 hectares of land. Their population is 12 crore. Don’t we have any responsibility towards 12 crore farmers? The tribute to Chaudhary Charan Singh will be the same to find a solution. ”

Manmohan Singh’s talk carried forward

The Prime Minister said that I want to read a quote of former PM Manmohan Singh. Manmohan Singh ji had expressed his intention to give the farmer freedom to sell produce, to provide India with an agricultural market. We are doing that work. You people should be proud to see that Manmohan Singh ji had said that Modi has to do it.

Mention of Lal Bahadur Shastri

At the time of Lal Bahadur Shastri, no one was ready to become the first Agriculture Minister. Then C Subramanian took over this. In spite of all the opposition of the Communist parties, he made many agricultural reforms. Due to this, today we are getting food to be grown in our country instead of wheat coming from America. Earlier too, the left parties had termed the government as agent of America and ruining small farmers. But Shastri did not back down. Due to this, food had to be ordered under the P-480 agreement. But then the farmers produced records.

Targeting Mamta Banerjee under the pretext of PM farmer

Prime Minister Modi said that if politics did not come forward in Bengal, the farmers there would have got the benefit of Kisan Nidhi. Due to political reasons, farmers of Bengal could not get the benefit of Kisan Samman Yojana. Similarly, the politics of debt waiver has been done before the elections due to the politics of votes. In almost every state of the country, promises are made to every party for debt waiver of the farmer. Never talk about how farmers can get rid of loans.
