Flight cancellations: India’s premium airline, IndiGo, continues to face operational difficulties. On Thursday, the airline set a record for flight cancellations. According to reports, 550 IndiGo flights were canceled across the country on November 4th. Approximately 191 of these flights were on Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Hyderabad routes. This massive cancellation caused chaos at airports. The airline issued a statement.

IndiGo stated that its network and operations have experienced significant disruptions over the past two days. “We sincerely apologize to all our customers and industry stakeholders affected by these incidents,” IndiGo said. “IndiGo’s teams are working diligently with the support of MOCA, DGCA, BCAS, AAI, and airport operators. We are striving to mitigate the impact of these delays and restore normalcy.”

The airline advised customers to check their status.

IndiGo further stated in its statement that it keeps its customers informed of any changes to their scheduled flights and advises them to check the latest status before traveling to the airport. IndiGo deeply regrets the inconvenience caused and is focused on restoring its operations as quickly as possible.

DGCA asks for explanation for flight cancellations

IndiGo, one of the country’s largest airlines, has been grappling with operational difficulties for the past few days. Last month, in November, the airline canceled 1,232 flights and experienced significant delays. Following the decline in performance, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) decided to launch an investigation. It asked the airline to explain the reasons behind the significant decline in operations. The civil aviation body also asked the airline to provide the correct explanation for the rapid number of flight cancellations and delays in November.
