Good news: Delhi-Mumbai, Delhi-Howrah journey will now be completed in 12 hours, know everything

Haryana: A complete plan has been prepared to speed up trains between Delhi to Mumbai (Delhi-Mumbai) and Delhi to Howrah (Delhi-Howrah).

Railways has been planning for this for a long time. This project has also got the approval of the cabinet 2 years ago. But the work on it at the ground level is going to start now. For this, every small and big work and their time limit has been fixed. On both these routes, the railway is going to increase the speed of trains to 160 kilometers per hour. Its purpose is to complete the journey of both in 12 hours.

Know what is the plan?

For this, the most important work on the Delhi-Mumbai route is fencing on both sides of the track of about 1380 km. Grant code route ie Gaya, Gomo, Dehri on Sone route has been selected to run semi high speed train for Howrah. Fencing will be done on both sides of the 1490 km long track on the Delhi-Howrah route. That is, stopping everyone’s entry on the track of a fast running train. Apart from this, the level crossing on the route will be eliminated. To give speed to the trains, better/heavy track will be installed on the entire route.

Along with this, the electrical wires above the train i.e. OHE will also be replaced. TPWS i.e. Train Protection Warning System will be installed for the safety of high speed trains. Modern automatic machines and cameras will be used for track inspection and repair. Radio frequency will also be used for the first time in Indian Railways for signaling and telecom.

How much will it cost?

>> Railways has spent about 5500 crores for civic work on both these routes.

>> 5300 crores for electrical work

>> About 2000 for work related to signaling and telecom

>> About Rs 625 crore has been estimated for mechanical work.

It is expected that work on this ambitious project of railways will now be started expeditiously and it will be completed by the year 2024.
