Good News: If you are worried about the service of digital wallet like Paytm-Google Pay, do not worry, now RBI has taken a big step

If you are worried about your bank and digital wallet services like Paytm, Google Pay and Phone Pay, then there is no need to take tension now. Because RBI is going to bring new rules about this soon.




Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das said on Friday that there are frequent complaints of consumers against banks and digital payment platforms. That is why the Reserve Bank of India has announced in June 2021 to introduce a unified Lokpal scheme for banks, NBFC and digital platforms. Its purpose is to resolve complaints quickly. Let us tell you that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) currently runs a complaint management system (CMS) on its website. On this portal you can file online complaints against all financial services agency including banks and non-banking financial companies (NBFCs). While filing the complaint, you have to give the complete details of the bank or person against whom the complaint is going to be made. Name, address, mobile number have to be given in this detail.

What will happen now

RBI has also proposed to set up a 24 × 7 helpline to address complaints of all digital transaction platforms. RBI says that doing so will improve the service of these platforms. Also, customer confidence will also increase. This helpline will also reduce expenditure on both financial and human resources.

RBI says that at present there are three Lokpal schemes in India 1. Banking Ombudsman Scheme 2. Ombudsman Scheme for Non-Banking Financial Companies 3.) Ombudsman Scheme for Digital Transactions. More than 20 Ombudsman offices of the Reserve Bank of India work to resolve customer complaints across the country.

The RBI governor said that the first CMS portal is for complaints. But the new portal will directly benefit the customers. Customers of prepaid payment instruments of banks, NBFCs and non-banks will soon be able to register their complaints on a centralized portal.

All government and private banks, including SBI, register complaints both online and offline. This can be done through offline form, SMS or call. Complaints about debit card related issues can also be lodged through these methods.

How to make a complaint online- Go to the official website of SBI. After that, click on the Right Side Customer Complaint Form below. Clicking here will open the form, fill all the details in the form and submit. After submitting your complaint will be filed. In this form, you have the option to check the status above, where you can also check the status of your complaint.

Complaints can also be made through SMS.

If you want to make your complaint through SMS, for that also the bank gives you SMS Unhappy Service (SMS “UNHAPPY”). For this, you have to type ‘UNHAPPY’ in the message and send it to 8008202020.

After sending your message, the employees of the bank will call you and solve your problem. If you want, you can also file your complaint through phone. For this, you have to call toll free number 1-800-425-3800 / 1-800-11-22-11.

Complaints can also be done offline – SBI also gives a chance to register a complaint for its customers who do not have access to mobile or internet. For this, you can collect the form from your nearest branch of the bank and fill it and submit it. You can fill your complaint and submit it to your nearest branch.
