Bus Free Travel: State government has given a big gift to the women who live in Rajasthan on the occasion of Women’s Day 2025. The Rajasthan government has taken a special initiative on March 8 and announced free travel for women in roadways buses across Rajasthan. This announcement was made on Wednesday on the instructions of Roadways Chairperson Shubhra Singh. Roadways Managing Director Purushottam Sharma said that the facility of free travel will be available from midnight to 11:59 pm on March 8.
Free travel opportunity will be available only within the state
This offer is applicable on all ordinary and express buses running within the state boundary of Rajasthan. AC and Volvo buses are not included in this scheme. Free travel for women travelling on inter-state routes will be applicable only within the boundary of Rajasthan. The official said that if a woman is travelling from Jaipur to Delhi, then her journey within Rajasthan will be free and after crossing the state boundary, she will have to buy a ticket for the remaining journey to Delhi.
This service will be available only in non-AC buses
Rajasthan Roadways Executive Director (Traffic) Jyoti Chauhan reiterated that the free travel facility is available only for non-AC buses and is limited within Rajasthan. She stressed that the initiative aims to empower women and encourage their mobility. Officials said the initiative shows the government’s commitment to women’s welfare and aims to provide a convenient and cost-free travel experience for women on this special occasion.
