Baal Aadhaar Card: At present, Aadhaar Card is necessary for people of all ages. You can also make Aadhar card for your children. For children below 5 years of age, a 12-digit Aadhaar card is required, which can be used as an ID proof. Blue color Aadhar card is issued for children below 5 years of age, which is called Bal Aadhar card. However, if the biometric is not updated after 5 years, then it is considered invalid. Aadhar card is required for enrollment of the child, birth certificate of the child and Aadhaar card of either of the parents.
UIDAI states that no biometrics are captured for children below 5 years of age. Their UID is processed on the basis of demographic information and facial photograph linked to the UID of their parents. These children will have to update the biometrics of images of ten fingers, iris and face at the age of 5 and 15 years.

How to apply
- Visit Nearest Aadhar Enrollment Center
- Birth certificate of the child will be necessary along with the Aadhar card of the parents
- Biometrics of children below 5 years of age will not be taken
- The child’s aadhar will be linked with the parent’s aadhaar card
