On completion of the verification process set out by the Authority, the UIDAI (‘Authority’) issues a 12-digit random Aadhaar number to the citizens of India. This Aadhaar number is available anywhere in India as proof of identity and address. For children under the age of 5 years, the Authority also issues a blue-coloured Aadhaar card which is called Baal Aadhaar. The procedure for adults is very close to Aadhaar enrollment for children. You need to take your child to and fill in the enrollment form to the nearest Aadhaar enrollment centre. The ‘Baal Aadhaar’ card will be provided free of charge, except in the case of children under 5 years old, there will be no biometric data authenticated. Hence, follow the below-related procedure to apply for the online Baal Aadhaar card.
- Visit UIDAI – (http://www.uidai.gov.in or https://resident.uidai.gov.in) and select the link of Aadhaar Card Registration.
- Now enter all the required details i.e. name of the child, mobile number of the parents, e-mail address, residential address, locality, district, state, and so on.
- Once done click on the fixed appointment tab and schedule the date of registration for the card.
- Now you need to select the nearest enrollment center to proceed further with the registration process.
- Now visit the selected enrollment center on the date of appointment with all the required documents and the reference number along with a print out of the form
- Now verify the documents and if the child is aged 5 years, the biometric information will be obtained
- You will be issued an acknowledgement number after completing the formalities, which can be used to monitor the application status.
- After the completion of the verification process, you will receive a notification via SMS of your registered mobile number. You will get an SMS within 60 days of the enrollment process, and then your child will be issued a Baal Aadhaar Card successfully.
