When we open an account in the bank, get FD, or buy any scheme, then we are asked to add our nominee. Due to this, in the event of the death of the account holder, his money reaches the nominee made by him i.e. the successor. The same happens in EPS account as well. If someone is investing in EPF, then he should add his nominee, so that the nominee can get this fund without any difficulty in case of untimely demise of the investor.
EPFO has given the facility to investors to add nominees digitally sitting at home. You can add yourself to your EPF or EPS account through e-nomination. To avail this facility, UAN must be active and mobile number must be linked with Aadhaar. This entire process has been digitized, so that people do not have to rush to add a nominee. Add your nominee like this
- First of all go to EPFO website. Here click on Service Service section.
- After this, click on ‘For Employees’ in the Employees option, then click on Member UAN / Online Service.
- After that login with your UAN and Password.
- After clicking on the Manage tab, select ‘e-Nomination’.
- After this, the Provide Details tab will come in which after filling all the information click on Save.
- Click on Yes for family related details and fill the family details. You can add more than one nominee.
- After that click on ‘Save EPF Nomination’ and click on ‘e-Sign’ to generate OTP.
- The mobile number OTP linked with Aadhaar will come and enter it and submit it. After this process the nominee will be linked to your account.
