IPPB Customer Alert! Doorstep services are no longer free, all these services will have to be charged so much

India Post Payments Bank has told on its official website that from August 1, 2021, every request for doorstep service will have to pay a service charge of Rs 20 plus GST to the customers.




New Delhi: India Post Payments Bank offers doorstep banking services to its customers across the country, which they can avail without stepping out of their comfort zone. But now IPPB bank has decided to levy charge on its doorstep services. Giving information about this on its official website, IPPB wrote that ‘From August 1, 2021, you will have to pay a service charge of Rs 20 and GST on every request for door step service’. Till now IPPB used to provide free doorstep service to its account holders.

For which services will have to be charged now

  • Cash Deposit, Cash Withdrawal Charges
  • Doorstep Banking Charges
  • PPF, RD, Sukanya Samriddhi, LARD i.e. Loan Against Recurring Deposit
  • Fund Transfer Charges
  • Charges even when transferring money to another bank
  • Mobile Prepaid, Postpaid Bill Payment
  • QR Code Reissue You will have to pay for assisted UPI as well.

Interest rates have been cut

The rate of interest to the account holders of India Post Payments Bank has also been cut. The bank has started cutting the interest rate of its savings accounts on the basis of new rules from July 1. Earlier account holders used to get 2.75 percent interest on the balance amount up to Rs 1 lakh. But from July 1, 2021, this has been reduced to 2.5 percent every year. At the same time, there has been no change in the interest rate for the balance amount of Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2 lakh. The account holders will continue to get interest at the rate of 2.75 percent per annum if there is a balance of Rs 1 lakh to 2 lakh in the account.

Let us tell you that India Post Payments Bank’s savings account is a specialty banking with QR card. The biggest feature of QR card is that you do not have to remember account number or password in it. One can also avail fund transfer modes of NEFT, IMPS, RTGS through IPPB account. Customers can also transfer funds with IPPB’s door step banking service. Along with this, customers of IPPB Bank can also buy recharge, life insurance and general insurance by making minimum payment.
