IMD Weather Alert: Severe cold alert in 9 states, rain warning in 5 states, see IMD forecast

IMD Weather Alert: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a severe cold alert for nine states today. Severe cold is expected across Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Himachal Pradesh. According to the IMD, temperatures are expected to drop further today.

IMD Weather Alert: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a severe cold alert for nine states today. Severe cold is expected across Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Himachal Pradesh. According to the IMD, temperatures are expected to drop further today, and dense fog may also cause problems for residents. The Meteorological Department stated that dense to very dense fog may prevail in some areas of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Uttar Pradesh during the morning and night.

The Meteorological Department has also issued an alert for heavy rain in five states. Furthermore, a cold wave is expected in 19 cities across North India, increasing the likelihood of further cold.

Rain will occur in these five states.

The IMD has issued a severe cold alert for Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Bihar, Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh. Heavy rain and thunderstorm alerts have been issued for Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh. These states are expected to experience heavy rain and wind speeds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour.

According to the Meteorological Department, rain is expected in Rajasthan on January 31st, while rain is forecast for Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh on February 1st.

Fog warning from Bihar to Rajasthan

According to the Meteorological Department, visibility may be reduced due to fog and dense mist in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, and Bihar. Meanwhile, Central India may see some relief with a gradual increase in minimum temperatures by two to three degrees Celsius over the next 24 hours. The IMD has identified a new western disturbance, currently present as a cyclonic circulation over northeastern Iran (IRAN).

Due to a significant change in the weather in Delhi, the minimum temperature has dropped by about 6 degrees Celsius. Dense fog in the morning and late night has significantly reduced visibility, affecting road and rail traffic. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for dense fog in the NCR on January 30th. The maximum temperature today is expected to be 19 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be 8 degrees Celsius.

Temperature Drop Warning

In its latest report, the IMD has stated that the maximum temperature on January 31st is expected to be around 20 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be 7 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, on February 1st, rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds with speeds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour are expected from morning to night.

According to IMD, moderate fog is expected in Lucknow and its surrounding cities this morning. It will be sunny during the day, but a drop in temperature can be recorded at night. According to the Meteorological Department, fog is expected in 15 districts of Uttar Pradesh.

How will the weather be in Uttarakhand

Fog may be felt in many areas of Uttarakhand this morning. According to the Meteorological Department, dense fog is likely to cover five cities in the state. A yellow fog alert has been issued for Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar.

In addition, light fog is expected in parts of Dehradun, Pauri, Nainital, and Champawat in the morning. Meanwhile, the International Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an avalanche warning for four mountainous districts: Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, and Pithoragarh, advising people to remain vigilant.
