India Weather Update Today: The havoc of flood and rain is being seen in the whole country these days. Many states of the country including Maharashtra are in a bad condition due to rains and floods. If the rivers are in spate, many villages have been submerged. Heavy destruction has been caused by the rains in the cities as well.
The Meteorological Department has issued a ‘yellow’ alert for Mumbai, in which heavy rain has been predicted at different places. While heavy rains are continuing in Telangana, there is a possibility of heavy rains even further. Eight people have reportedly lost their lives in various rain-related incidents in Telangana since July 22. Due to heavy rains, orders have been given to keep schools and colleges closed in Mumbai and Telangana.
The IMD has predicted heavy rain at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and South Interior Karnataka.
Heavy rain alert in Noida, Ghaziabad and Gurugram
The Meteorological Department (IMD) had initially predicted light to moderate rains over Delhi and Uttar Pradesh till July 26, however it is now expected that similar weather conditions will continue throughout the week. Flood situation continues in plains of Hindon and Yamuna areas in Noida and Greater Noida, affecting 17 villages, where over 3100 people have been evacuated and moved to shelter homes, while around 1600 hectares of land has been submerged . Moderate to heavy rain has been predicted in Noida, Ghaziabad and Gurugram for more than 4 days in UP’s Noida and Ghaziabad.
Chance of rain in many districts of UP
There is a possibility of rain in many districts of Uttar Pradesh today (July 28). These districts are- Gorakhpur, Rae Bareli, Balrampur, Gonda, Basti, Badayun, Jalaun, Lalitpur, Meerut, Bulandshahr, Hamirpur, Firozabad, Jhansi, Agra, Etah, Mathura, Agra, Kanpur Dehat, Jalaun, Baghpat, Kasganj, Hamirpur, Etawah , Hapur, Jalaun, Hathras, Bijnor and Muzaffarnagar.
There is a possibility of winds blowing at a speed of 40-50 KMP in different areas of Uttar Pradesh for the next 2-3 days. During this time, there can also be storms and power losses. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning that the number of lightning and thunder may increase in the coming days. For this reason, people have been advised to avoid being outside during heavy rain or lightning.
