IMD Weather Update: Cold wave and rain alert issued in 15 states including Delhi and UP, know the weather conditions

Today’s Weather: A cold wave continues to grip most parts of the country in December, making the temperatures rapidly increasing. The Meteorological Department has predicted cold wave conditions to persist in central and eastern India, while cold wave conditions may hit northwest India until December 12. Dense fog is likely in Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, eastern Uttar Pradesh, Assam, and Manipur. The cold is expected to intensify further from December 13.

Today’s Weather: With the onset of December, most parts of the country have been hit by a cold wave. The cold is spreading rapidly. A cold wave alert has been issued in many states even today. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD Weather Update), cold wave conditions will continue in Central and adjoining Eastern India. Cold wave may hit some parts of North-West India till December 12.

According to the IMD forecast, dense fog is likely to prevail in Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Assam and Manipur during the morning hours. Apart from this, a cold wave alert has been issued in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and North-Eastern states including Odisha.

The cold wave in the country is expected to intensify from December 13. Light rain and snowfall in the states along the Western Himalayas is expected to cause a sharp drop in temperatures.

Himachal and Uttarakhand await rain

Dry weather continues in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, exacerbating the cold. The dry cold and frost are causing significant distress in the hilly areas. Rain or snowfall is expected in the hilly states after December 13th.

Winds will increase the cold in Delhi

The cold wave in the hilly states may also affect Delhi NCR. The cold winds are expected to increase the chill in many areas of Delhi. The capital will experience light fog and mist, with the minimum temperature hovering around 6 degrees Celsius.

Cold wave to wreak havoc in eastern Uttar Pradesh

The cold wave has suddenly intensified the cold in the eastern part of Uttar Pradesh. The Terai belt has begun the morning with dense fog. The cold wave may cause chills and freezing temperatures.

Temperatures Drop in Bihar

Westerly winds are blowing in Bihar, increasing the feeling of cold. Several districts, including Patna, have recorded a significant drop in temperatures. The westerly winds will continue to wreak havoc in Bihar for the next 48 hours. During this period, winds are expected to blow at speeds of 15-20 kilometers per hour in most areas.

Rainfall forecast in 3 states

The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands today. A yellow alert has been issued for these states.
