IMD Weather Update: Temperature reaches 34 degree Celsius in Dehradun, IMD alert in Uttarakhand

​​Uttrakhand Weather Update: Heat has started showing its effect in Uttarakhand. The humid summer has started in the mountains. However, there is a possibility of snowfall and hailstorm with thunder at some places in the hill districts today. There is a possibility of strong winds at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in view of the hailstorm.

Weather Update: The heat has started showing its intensity in the plain districts of Uttarakhand. On Thursday, the maximum temperature of Dehradun broke the record of 10 years. In other districts too, an increase of three to four degrees Celsius has been recorded in the maximum temperature. At the same time, due to rain in the hilly areas the weather has become pleasant. On Thursday, the maximum temperature of Dehradun was recorded at 34.9 degrees Celsius, which is 5 degrees more than normal. Earlier in the year 2014, the temperature on this day was 31.2 degrees Celsius.

Along with the day temperature, the effect of heat is also visible at night in the state. An increase of four degrees Celsius has also been recorded in the night minimum temperature. Today on Friday also the maximum temperature of the day is likely to be 34 degrees and the minimum temperature will be 20 degrees. On the other hand, there is a possibility of snowfall in the hilly areas of the state. There is a possibility of light rain at isolated places in Dehradun including Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Tehri and Pauri districts. There may be heavy rain in areas at altitude more than four thousand meters.

The Meteorological Center has issued a yellow alert for lightning and hailstorm in the hilly districts along with wind speed up to 50 kilometers per hour. On Thursday, the maximum temperature of Udham Singh Nagar was 33.0 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 17.1 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature of Mukteshwar was recorded at 24.5 and the minimum temperature was 10.3 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature of Tehri was recorded at 25.0 degrees Celsius, 1 degree Celsius more than normal, and the minimum temperature was 14.1 degrees Celsius.
