Restaurant owner Monu Mukesh, 38, a resident of Ambedkar Colony, Rohtak, says that his two and a half year old daughter gave the idea to make big paratha. Now this idea has become his identity. Actually, Monu makes the biggest paratha. At present, parathas weighing more than 1.25 kg are prepared on a griddle weighing about 30 kg.
Referring to the incident, Monu said that one day in the year 2006, his wife was ill. Monu used to run a restaurant on rented land. That’s why his wife Geeta called and said that while coming home at night, bring parathas. When wife Geeta and Monu were sitting with their two and a half year old daughter Tapasya to eat parathas.
At the same time, the daughter said in a mischievous manner that Papa, these parathas are very small, it will not fill the stomach of all of us. Along with this, spreading both the hands said that make such big parathas. Monu found strength in talking about his daughter Tapasya. He started working on this idea. Then he also succeeded in making the biggest paratha.
30 kg weight tawa brought from the market
From the very beginning, 12th pass Monu wanted to start his own business. So the plan to operate the restaurant was decided. He told that initially it was difficult to work on the idea of making big parantha. However, after 20-25 days of rigorous practice, success was achieved in making big paratha. He told that he started looking for a pan to make the biggest paratha. When he reached the market, a street vendor was making tikkis on a big pan. From there, there was hope for success. After reaching the market, he bought a tawa weighing 30 kg and brought it.
Normal 10 parathas can be ready
Monu believes that putting such a huge paratha on the pan was the biggest challenge. There were big problems in the beginning. He told that the size of the paratha is up to two feet. While there is a paratha weighing 1.25 kg. Normal 10 parathas can be prepared from the parathas prepared here. A reward of one lakh rupees has also been announced for the person who eats the concerned paratha while sitting in the restaurant. Even after many years, no single person has been able to eat a paratha.
Franchise closed in Chandigarh
Monu says that about three years ago a person opened a franchise in Chandigarh. Last year, due to the loss in the Kovid period, the person there closed the franchise. Now there is a preparation to give franchisees online as well as online. Apart from some places in Delhi, talks are also going on in some districts of Haryana.
