Jammu and kashmir: Farooq, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti get invitation to PM Modi’s meeting

According to information received from sources, the Center plans to send invitations to 16 leaders of Jammu and Kashmir.

Jammu and Kashmir : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a meeting with all the political parties of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) in Delhi on June 24.

For this, 14 leaders, including four former CMs of Jammu and Kashmir, have been invited by PM Modi. It was told that all the politicians of Jammu and Kashmir have received invitations over the phone.

Officials said that Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla has contacted all these leaders to attend the meeting. This meeting will be held on June 24 at the Prime Minister’s residence.

According to information received from sources, National Conference’s Farooq Abdullah and his son Omar Abdullah, senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad and PDD chief Mehbooba Mufti have been contacted over the phone. Invitations have been sent to all the former Chief Ministers of the state. Congress leader Tara Chandra, People’s Conference leader Muzaffar Hussain Baig, BJP leader Nirmal Singh and Kavinder Gupta have been invited to the meeting.

Apart from this, CPI(M) leader Mohammad Yusuf Tarigami, Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) chief Altaf Bukhari, People’s Conference’s Sajjad Lone, Jammu and Kashmir Congress chief GA Mir, BJP’s Ravinder Raina and Panthers Party leader Bhim Singh have been invited to this meeting. According to information received from sources, the Center plans to invite 16 political leaders.

The meeting will be the first such exercise since the Center announced the revocation of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir in August 2019 and bifurcation of it into two union territories. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other central leaders are likely to participate in this meeting.

When Omar Abdullah was contacted, he said that he has received an invitation for the meeting from the Centre, but he will follow the guidelines of the party. According to information received from sources, the National Conference has said that in the next few days, Abdullah will hold discussions with senior party leaders.

 

 

At the same time, PDP said that a meeting will be held in this matter on Sunday, on which decision will be taken. Raina has informed by tweeting that he has received the invitation. At the same time, the leaders who have been invited have been asked to give Corona negative RTPCR report.
